The Maremma is a land with a very ancient wine tradition testified by the wines of Scansano, city of Morellino, those of the area of Tufo with Bianco di Pitigliano, the terraces to the sea of the Giglio Island with the Ansonica, up to the hills of medieval Massa Marittima with the Monteregio.
For those who love this sector, the Resort can book wine tastings and visits in the Maremma cellars:
The Santa Lucia company, in the Maremma Park, with 35 hectares of vineyards, is the closest production area of Morellino di Scansano to the coast. Luca will accompany you on a journey inside the taste, walking among the French oak barriques.
Those approaching the particular area of Tufo, during the journey through the sinuous Maremma hills, will be able to stop in the village of Manciano at the Montauto Winery to taste many labels, including Bianco di Pitigliano, one of the first DOCs recognized in Italy and important product for the wine sector.
Guests who love the sea can reach "La Fontuccia", a place from which the winery of Giglio Island takes its name, offering a white wine of Ansonica grapes (or "Ansonaco" in Gigliese dialect) in single-variety vinification "Senti Oh" and a 'passito' made always with Ansonica grapes, the "Nantropo' " both winners at Vinitaly. Giovanni and Simone will show you the terraced vineyards on the Giglio hills, before a favourful tasting of typical products accompanied by the full-bodied and fresh taste of the renowned label.
Those who instead go to the high Maremma, can stop at the Valentini Farm whose staff will welcome you with tastings of Monteregio di Massa Marittima and not only ... This area of the province gives way to the Monteregio Wine Route, ideal place for those who want to discover wine bars, typical products and high quality artisan shops. In the heart of Massa Marittima you can find the tourist office that will provide information on guided tours, events and a wine bar for tastings at the foot of the magnificent Cathedral of the village.
